The great actor Ivan Ivanov left us on January 31, 2024 at the age of 72. We recall that the star of "Everything is Love" overcame a throat cancer diagnosis in 2012, when he underwent surgeries and therapies and managed to overcome the disease, but lost his voice. In 2022, it became clear that the diagnosis had returned to him and he underwent surgery and treatment again, which were successful, writes varna24.bg.
The audience will always remember him as the rebel in love Rado from "Everything is Love", which turned him into a movie idol, all the schoolgirls were in love with him, and the directors were competing to film him. In life, he was a man, a man of exceptional honor and dignity, despising falsehood and worldly vanity. Ivanov, who at the height of his career shot several films a year, took the critical years for Bulgarian cinema after the Tenth, when almost nothing was shot, very hard. Over the past ten years, the actor has hardly appeared at public events. "Here, in the village, I am happy. As I say, animals, even goats, excite me more than cinema. I have nothing more to do. It is done. It can't be done anymore. I have my own self-confidence that I have done my job well", Ivan Ivanov shared some time ago.
"I got drunk before the love scenes in "Everything is Love" and fell asleep. Then we tried the love scenes with Yanina Kasheva several times until we finally got the chemistry. But it wasn't easy at all," the actor admitted years ago.
After becoming a total movie idol with the role of Rado, more hit films with his participation followed - he played Asen in "Lavina" (1982), Vas/Hristo in "Kombina" (1982), Trayan in "Myarka za neotklonenie" (1983). He starred in films by directors such as Borislav Sharaliev ("Boris I", 1985), Zako Heskia ("Nochem s belite kone", 1985), Ivan Andonov ("Mechtateli", 1987), etc.
Ivan Ivanov became an actor by pure chance. He graduated from a technical school in mechanical engineering with a low diploma, because of which he could not enter either geography, or the School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Simeonovo, or law, which he had desired. For some time he was a radio operator at the Sofia airport, recalls "Retro".
"The drama of all generations is that they do not realize that they are human beings. In order to see the other person next to you, you yourself must be awake. When you are awake, you see the beauty around you. Every person is beautiful. And this must be known", said Ivan Ivanov.
