This year I chose to be short and direct for today. The world is burning and history is coming back brutally and quickly. Everything is becoming possible again on the world stage, even the unthinkable. In such times, weak, divided, insecure countries and peoples have always been eaten by the strong or have been stuck in the mud of their own inertia.

National holidays are not something sacred. They are not some unchangeable dogma - we have faith in these things. They are something pragmatic with a specific function, as is the entire national project with all its symbols, myths and pantheon - namely to unite us. To keep us united and organized, so that we are capable and flexible in the turbulent and dangerous waters of history. Therefore, this year I turn to those who do not exactly like today's date for a national holiday, or who are tired of it all, or who are tired of "patriotism":
Think for a moment and look around what is happening in the world. Is now the time to look for flaws in the national project and its symbols? To rock the boat, already wooden, barely assembled, on which we have crammed 6 million people into an increasingly turbulent ocean? To fight over our most basic symbols, to divide our common "home against ourselves", while wars are already being waged every month and not far from our borders? Right now?
Brace yourself. If something in the context of the holiday irritates you - grit your teeth. If you are lazy, "because every year..." - at least congratulate your loved ones. No matter how you feel - at least don't sow discord out of a desire for everyone to be an eternal contra. Think responsibly about the situation we find ourselves in as a small nation in a weak state, and damn it - celebrate at least the national holiday, ONCE a year, so that we have at least one thing left to unite us. If we end up with these, the last national anchors, this common home of ours "will not stand" of the times that are coming.
