The 33-year-old Santos striker, who played despite an injury at the end of the season, scored five goals in his last four matches in the Brazilian championship. The club retained its place in Serie A for next season.
Neymar played in only 19 of the 38 matches in the championship, which began in April. He scored eight goals.
"I came here to help the team in any way. These weeks have been difficult for me. Thank you to everyone who was with me and supported me. "If it weren't for them, I wouldn't have played in these games because of injuries and a knee problem. I need a break and then I'll have knee surgery," Neymar said.
