Microsoft is once again taking a serious step towards improving the user experience! In the era of shared content and constant connectivity, the company is testing a long-awaited feature in Windows 11 that will finally put an end to the annoying dilemma of who can listen and who can't. It's about “Shared Audio“ a feature that allows you to stream sound simultaneously to two pairs of wireless Bluetooth headphones or speakers.

This is much more than just convenience; it's a social innovation! Imagine watching an exciting movie on your laptop with a friend or just wanting to share your new music hit with a family member – no more need for long cables or compromises with volume.

“Shared Audio“ works thanks to the cutting-edge Bluetooth Low Energy audio codec (LE). The feature is currently available to Windows 11 Insiders in the Dev and Beta channels, where it is undergoing intensive testing.

To start this “audio symphony“, you just need to connect two compatible Bluetooth LE Audio devices to your PC. Immediately after connecting, the “Quick Actions“ setting for Shared Audio (preview) will appear in the “Quick Actions“ menu. To end the session, simply press the “Stop Sharing“ button - simple and intuitive!

Currently, “Shared Audio“ is supported on select Copilot+ PCs with Windows 11 that have the powerful hardware to handle the new codec. Among these pioneering models are: Surface Laptop 7th generation (13.8- and 15-inch, based on Qualcomm Snapdragon X) and Surface Pro 11th generation and Surface Pro for Business.

Microsoft also promises support for the long-awaited Samsung Galaxy Book5 360 and Galaxy Book5 Pro soon, as well as the 12-inch Surface Laptop and Surface Laptop for Business.

Of course, for sharing to work flawlessly, you also need headphones, speakers, or hearing aids that support Bluetooth LE Audio. Compatible models already include the Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Buds3, and Buds3 Pro, Sony WH-1000XM6, and hearing aids from ReSound and Beltone.
