Car multimedia will now be a personal territory! - 1

The technological front in the automotive industry was shaken by two colossal news that promise to completely transform the boring concept of in-car screens. Giants Harman and LG did not just introduce new displays, but also relied on radical innovations, turning the interior into a personal, adaptive multimedia fortress.

Harman: Cinematic quality on the road

Harman, a company known for its audio solutions and infotainment systems, has thrown down the gauntlet with the announcement of its Ready Display system. The big news is that their new display is the world's first for cars to receive HDR10+ Automotive certification. This standard has so far been reserved for the highest-end premium TVs and guarantees flawless and accurate reproduction of HDR content even in extremely dynamic lighting conditions.

For passengers, this means an end to blurry or too dark screens on a sunny day. The system uses adaptive functions that instantly adjust brightness and rich colors to the environment, providing a stable and rich picture regardless of weather conditions or display position. Ready Display is based on Samsung's cutting-edge Neo QLED technology and will be available in three varieties - NQ3, NQ5 and NQ7 - to meet the needs of different vehicle classes.

LG: Dual Vision for Total Freedom

Meanwhile, LG's competitors responded with an Innovation Award at CES 2026 for their remarkable Dual View OLED display. It is a true masterpiece of automotive technology - the first OLED display capable of displaying two completely different images at the same time, depending on the angle from which the viewer is looking at it.

The technology eliminates the annoying problem of driver distraction. While the driver can monitor critical navigation or speed information, the front passenger is able to enjoy streaming video without any obstruction, seeing radically different content on the same screen. The same functionality is carried over to the rear seats, where passengers can watch different movies at the same time, without disturbing each other. It is an evolution in the personal multimedia zone, which finally gives absolute freedom to each occupant.

The battle for the future and the big question

Both companies, through these innovations, clearly demonstrate that the car is becoming the next great platform for entertainment and communication. Harman with its HDR10+ sets the standard for cinematic quality, while LG with Dual View OLED solves the age-old problem of driver distraction. Although there are still no official dates or names of automakers who will be the first to implement these systems, the announcements for CES 2026 clearly show: the car interior is about to be turned upside down.
