Prof. Velislav Minekov to FACT: There is one word that unites public expectations - retribution (VIDEO) - 1

Let me remind you, because this seems to have been forgotten - the process of eliminating the corrupt political system began with the protests in 2020. After that, power was again taken by Borisov, but he was never able to return as prime minister. And this time, it seems to me that we are on the way to finally part with this model. Naturally, everything is in the hands of President Rumen Radev. If he behaves like a man, responsibly, if he has serious and consistent behavior, there is a chance that we will truly part forever with those political dependencies that deformed statehood and led to a feeling of a robbed state. He announced this to Lili Marinkova in the studio “FACT“ and the show “Conversation“ prof. Velislav Minekov.

“There is one word that unites public expectations, and we must say it clearly - retribution. This is the desire of the people. They saw robbery, pressure from a dysfunctional judicial system, dependence on all types of bosses - be it mayors, directors of municipal enterprises, cultural institutions. There was political pressure everywhere that forced people to make compromises. This is a tragedy. And I am convinced that today the first item on the public agenda is precisely retribution. I have also filed reports of corruption, including to the prosecutor's office, but to no avail, although the evidence was obvious. Therefore, the hope now is that the state will start working differently“, added the guest.

“In sociology, it was the same in 2021, but now we are already talking about collapse. They did not know what would happen to "Vazrazhdane", nor to GERB, nor to the formation around the president. They did not know anything. This is very shameful, and at the same time we see how these same people continue to appear on television and radio and give opinions. The truth is that trust in them has been seriously shaken. There have even been allegations, including from a colleague of theirs, that such analyses are done for a fee. This is sad and undermines the authority of sociology even more. Despite all the predictions, the protests that brought down Borisov turned out to be much more significant than they presented themselves. These were not protests about the budget or a specific policy - these were protests of deep public dissatisfaction, of hatred for the model, of dissatisfaction with the way the country was governed. People simply got tired of this model. And today we see the result - categorical rejection of the status quo and the way the country was governed“, Minekov also said.
