Tallinn and Warsaw were angry after Angela Merkel's accusations: Putin is the only culprit for the war - 1

Estonia and Poland reacted to the words of former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who earlier stated that Poland and the Baltic states blocked the EU dialogue with Putin in 2021, which contributed to Russia's aggression, reports Censor NET, quoted by Focus.

The head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Estonian Parliament, Marko Mikkelson, said that this was "a new and, unfortunately, very low conclusion on Merkel's part: to accuse the Baltic states and Poland of provoking Russia's imperial war".

"Unfortunately, this casts a shadow over her entire period of work as Chancellor of Germany. I won't even mention "Nord Stream" here," the Estonian parliamentarian added.

Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, in turn, declared that "Russia's war against Ukraine was caused by only one factor: the refusal to recognize the collapse of the Soviet Union and its unbridled imperialist ambitions", adding that "Russia alone is to blame for this aggression".

Merkel's interview was also criticized in Poland. Former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki called the interview with the former German Chancellor "reckless". According to him, she has proven that she is "among the German politicians who have caused the most harm to Europe".

Former Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydło also criticized Merkel for "having cooperated with Putin as much as she could" and now "complaining and blaming Poland".

"This is shameless and pathetic", Szydło believes.

We recall that today former German Chancellor Angela Merkel stated that Poland and the Baltic states are to blame for Putin's invasion of Ukraine.
