French Prime Minister Survives First No-Confidence Vote - 1

The French government survived the first of two no-confidence votes in the National Assembly (lower house of parliament) on Monday, Reuters reported, BTA reported.

Prime Minister Sebastien Le Corneille's decision to temporarily suspend the pension reform won him the support of MPs from the left, the agency noted.

The first no-confidence vote, submitted by the far-left party "France Insubordinate", received the support of 271 MPs, and 289 votes were needed for the government to fall.

The second no-confidence vote, scheduled for a vote a little later, was submitted by the far-right "National Assembly".
