Norwegian Military Intelligence reported that last week's test of a new Russian long-range nuclear-powered cruise missile "Burevestnik" was launched from the Novaya Zemlya Islands in the Barents Sea, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
"We can confirm that Russia has conducted a test launch of its new long-range cruise missile from Novaya Zemlya," Vice Admiral Nils Andreas Stensones, head of the Norwegian Intelligence Service, confirmed to the agency.

The 9M730 "Burevestnik" is a low-flying ground-launched cruise missile that can not only carry a nuclear warhead, but is also nuclear-powered. NATO calls it the SSC-X-9 Skyfall.
