Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic expressed the opinion that it would be good for Serbia if the Russian oil company "Lukoil" solved the problem with American sanctions by selling its assets abroad, the TANYUG agency reported, quoted by BTA.
„We would be happy if "Lukoil" would sell its assets and end things with that. "Lukoil" has a significant number of retail outlets in our country", he told Vucic during his visit to Uzbekistan in comment on the news that "Lukoil" has accepted an offer to acquire its foreign assets from the company "Gunvor".
Vucic said that "Lukoil" imports about 100,000 tons of oil derivatives into Serbia.
„A small problem would be solved with this. And whether it will happen or not remains to be seen. We have a much bigger problem than this (with "Lukoil" assets) - the refinery in Pancevo. I hope that we will be able to solve it in the coming days“, Vucic said in the Uzbek city of Samarkand, where he attended the ceremonial opening of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference.
