According to Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov, Britain may lose not only its monarchy, but also Scotland. He stated this today to RIA Novosti, Focus reports.
"Great Britain may lose not only its monarchy, but also Scotland. Euromaniacs like former Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt are calling on the Scots to secede from the United Kingdom. He expressed his support for any path that would allow Scotland to rejoin the European Union“, Pushkov wrote on his Telegram channel.
The senator notes that Verhofstadt called Scotland “the most pro-European part of Great Britain“ and has stated that its future lies in Europe.
"What is this if not a call for the separation of Scotland from the United Kingdom, that is, an attack on the territorial integrity of Great Britain? The British should be afraid of the puppeteers and schemers in Brussels, not Russia", the Russian politician emphasizes.
