Mexican President: We will not see a US military mission on our territory - 1

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Monday that unilateral US military action in Mexico “will not happen”, even though the United States has stepped up its military action in South America in recent months, including carrying out strikes that have claimed casualties, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

Sheinbaum's comments were in response to questions about an "NBC News" report published yesterday that said the US had begun detailed planning for a new mission against drug cartels in Mexico, including sending troops and intelligence officers to the country. “That will not happen. "We have no information that it's going to happen... And besides, we don't agree with it," Sheinbaum said.

Sheinbaum has repeatedly rejected unilateral U.S. military action in Mexico, including proposals by U.S. President Donald Trump to send U.S. troops to help fight the cartels.

Since early September, U.S. strikes on suspected drug trafficking vessels in the eastern Pacific and Caribbean have killed dozens of people.

The Trump administration has accused the victims of being drug traffickers without providing evidence.
