To date, there is no encirclement or blockade of the cities of Pokrovsk and Mirnograd by the Russian invaders. None of the units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces are surrounded, said the spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Major Andriy Kovalov, quoted by Ukrinform, writes BTA.
„To date, there is no encirclement or blockade of the cities in the Pokrovsk-Mirnograd agglomeration. "None of the units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces are surrounded," Kovalov assured.
According to him, the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are doing everything possible to maintain their logistical connections.
He added that the situation in Pokrovsk is difficult, but a complex operation is currently underway to identify enemy forces in the urban area, destroy them, and push the Russian invaders out of Pokrovsk.
The General Staff also called on citizens to rely on official sources of information and not to spread unconfirmed information.
Ukrinform previously reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces have stopped the expansion of the Russian military presence in the northern part of Pokrovsk and prevented the enemy from cutting off the road connecting the city with Rodynske.
Following a successful airborne operation, additional units of Military intelligence penetrated through a land corridor and joined forces with special forces, which secured certain lines in Pokrovsk.
The Airborne Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces note that as of November 4, fierce urban fighting continued in Pokrovsk.
The situation in this sector remains dynamic, Ukrainform reports.
