Volodymyr Zelensky: I'm going to Turkey, it's time to revive talks to end the war - 1

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today that he plans to travel to Turkey tomorrow, where he will revive talks to end the war in Ukraine, which has been going on for over three and a half years, Reuters reported. The head of state will travel to Turkey after his visit to Spain today, BTA reports.

"We are preparing to revive the negotiations and have developed solutions that we will offer to our partners. "Doing everything possible to end the war is of paramount importance to Ukraine," Zelensky said of his upcoming meetings in Turkey.

He added that his country was also working to resume the exchange of prisoners of war with Russia.

Last month, the Kremlin accused Kiev of disrupting the Istanbul negotiation process for a possible peaceful resolution to the conflict.

"The process is on hold due to the unwillingness of the Kiev regime to answer in any way the questions we have raised," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russian state television journalist Pavel Zarubin at the time, quoted by DPA.

Delegations from Moscow and Kiev have met repeatedly since May this year for direct talks in the Turkish metropolis of Istanbul.

Several exchanges of prisoners of war and the bodies of killed servicemen have been agreed upon, but Russia refuses to withdraw their basic claims, which is why a peace agreement is not in sight in the near future.
