The US is preparing to present a new peace agreement for Ukraine, reports "Politico".
A senior White House official expects the framework of the agreement to be finalized by the end of November, possibly even this week.
Russia's bloody full-scale invasion of Ukraine could turn into a peace agreement between the countries and now there is a chance that the corresponding prospect will materialize in the near future, the American publication writes, citing the words of an anonymous White House representative.
It is claimed that the White House is in the process of preparing to announce a new important peace agreement in the context of Russia's war against Ukraine. A senior official said that there are currently expectations that by the end of November, the parties to the conflict, with the participation and mediation of the United States, will agree on the framework of the peace agreement.
Moreover, an unnamed Washington representative did not rule out that under favorable conditions this could happen "as early as this week".
All parties will agree on a framework for ending the conflict, the source stressed.
While this does not mean that a peace agreement will be signed immediately, an agreed peace framework would mean that both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian leader Vladimir Putin "agree" with the idea of ending the war.
The source confirmed Axios' information that the United States and Russia are discussing the potential agreement, and currently the US special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, is talking to the Ukrainian side in an attempt to get it to agree to the framework.
Earlier today, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that since the meeting in Anchorage there have been no qualitative changes on the issue of ending Russia's full-scale war in Ukraine and beyond what was discussed there, there are still no proposals regarding Ukraine.
European leaders will gather on December 18 for the last EU summit in 2025 to resolve the issue of financing Ukraine, so as to avoid a shortage of funds by the middle of next year.
