Donald Tusk to Poles: This is Russian state terrorism! Their goal was to destroy human lives - 1

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk condemned what he described as “Russian state terrorism“, after the sabotage of a railway line used to deliver aid to neighboring Ukraine, reported Agence France-Presse, quoted by BTA.

In a brief address to parliament, Tusk called on Poles to unite against Moscow's attempts “to sow discord in relations with Europe, Ukraine and, above all, among Poles themselves“.

“The subversive actions, inspired and organized for months by the Kremlin services, have recently crossed the critical line and now we can even talk about state terrorism“, he said he.

Tusk claims that their aim was to destroy human lives and destabilize the foundations of the Polish state.

Agence France-Presse recalls that between Saturday and Monday a clamp was attached to the tracks, probably with the aim of causing a derailment, while in another case an explosive device was activated on the tracks as a freight train passed.

Warsaw has identified two Ukrainians suspected of acting on behalf of Moscow as the alleged perpetrators and has asked Belarus, an ally of Russia, where the two men are believed to have fled, to extradite them.

The Foreign Ministry in Minsk announced that Belarusian law enforcement agencies, in cooperation with their Polish counterparts, are actively searching for the suspects.

„The competent authorities have taken joint action to establish the whereabouts of two Ukrainian citizens suspected of committing terrorist acts on Polish territory“, the ministry said.

Poland also announced that it would close the last remaining Russian consulate in Poland. It is located in the port city of Gdansk.

On Tuesday, Moscow condemned Polish allegations of its involvement in acts of sabotage, accusing Warsaw of Russophobia.

In his address, Tusk urged lawmakers not to repeat pro-Russian narratives, reminding them of a massive disinformation campaign that is trying to shift the blame to Ukraine.

“Support Ukraine in its war against Russia without any “buts”, he told parliament.

Tusk urged nationalist and far-right opposition lawmakers, as well as Poland's national-conservative president and his administration, not to question European unity.

“Support a strong West, not Russia,”, the prime minister insisted.

“In times of war, there is no "But" - you are either for Poland or against it, especially when it comes to national security in the face of the Russian threat, Tusk added.
