Republican from the US House of Representatives Anna Paulina Luna believes that the resignation of Volodymyr Zelensky's chief of staff, Andriy Ermak, requires an audit of the financial aid allocated to Ukraine.
„Do you understand why we had to audit the spending of the money sent to Ukraine? Corruption“, she wrote in her post on X, commenting on the news of Ermak's resignation.
On November 10, Ukrainian anti-corruption authorities announced a large-scale operation, called „Operation Midas“, to expose a major corruption scheme in the energy sector.
This scandal caused a deep crisis in the Ukrainian government – The parliament was suspended, and several deputies, including those from the ruling Servant of the People party, demanded the resignation of Volodymyr Zelensky's chief of staff.
On November 28, it was reported that anti-corruption officers were searching Yermak's apartment and office. He himself confirmed the investigation.
Zelensky later announced that Yermak had resigned.
