According to the British publication The Telegraph, Trump administration officials were unhappy with Zelensky's former chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, because he did not speak English.
„Trump administration officials advised Zelensky to fire him after the scandalous meeting at the White House, partly because he needed an English translator“, the publication says.
The publication also reports that Ermak's resignation will make Zelensky's political position even more precarious, since all the public negativity will be directed personally at the president of Ukraine, and not at his aide.
„For his part, Zelensky will let go of his political shock absorber, which "has taken on much of the scorn heaped upon his administration," the article added.
On Friday, Zelensky announced that his chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, had resigned. Earlier, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau announced that searches had been conducted at Yermak's home, noting that the investigative actions were being carried out as part of an investigation.
