Over 1,800 foreign tourists rescued after flooding in Thailand  - 1

Over 1,800 foreign tourists have been rescued and received assistance in areas hit by severe flooding in southern Thailand, the Bangkok Post reported.

According to Tourism and Sports Minister Athakon Sirilathayakon, there are no new reports of tourists stranded in flooded areas in the south of the country and transport networks have almost fully restored.

The death toll from floods in Thailand's southern provinces has reached 162. Songkhla province and its largest city, Hat Yai, with a population of approximately 160,000, were the hardest hit. The southern provinces of Thailand, bordering Malaysia, are not a popular tourist destination for Russians.
