Six people were killed and 11 were injured in a bus accident in the southern Turkish province of Osmaniye, the Anadolu Agency reported.
“A passenger bus, whose driver has not yet been identified, collided with a truck traveling in the same direction. The collision caused serious damage to the bus, with some passengers trapped inside,” authorities said.
After receiving the signal, numerous firefighters, medical personnel, police and gendarmerie were sent to the scene of the incident. After prolonged efforts, rescuers pulled the stranded passengers out of the bus.
"Initial medical examination showed that six people died on the spot“, the agency reported.
Eleven injured people were transported by ambulance to various hospitals in Osmaniye and are being treated, the agency added.
Law enforcement officials have launched an investigation into the incident, the agency added.
