Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will be briefed today on the negotiating team's dialogue with US officials and will receive all documents related to the peace plan, Kiev's top negotiator Rustem Umerov said, quoted by Reuters, BTA reported.
In a post on the communication application “Telegram“ Umerov added that the main task of the Kiev negotiating team during the recent talks in the United States was to receive full information about the US talks in Moscow and all draft proposals.
“Together with all partners, we must do everything possible for a dignified end to this war“, he said.
US President Donald Trump said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “is “not ready” to sign the peace proposal prepared by the US, which aims to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, the Associated Press reported, BTA reports.
Trump criticized Zelensky after negotiators from the US and Ukraine concluded three days of talks on Saturday aimed at narrowing differences over the US administration's proposal. But last night, in a conversation with reporters, Trump hinted that the Ukrainian president was hindering the progress of the negotiations.
"I'm a little disappointed that President Zelensky has not yet read the proposal that was ready a few hours ago. His people like it, but he hasn't read it," Trump said in a conversation with reporters before taking part in the ceremony of presenting the 2025 Kennedy Center Honors. "Russia, I think, agrees with it, but I'm not sure that Zelensky agrees. His people like it. But he's not ready," Trump added.
