A Sudanese military plane has crashed while attempting to land in the eastern part of the country, the Associated Press reports. There were no survivors in the incident, and the exact number of dead is not specified, News.bg reports.
According to sources, the IL-76 cargo plane suffered a technical malfunction during a landing approach at the “Osman Digna“ air base, located in the coastal city of Port Sudan.
The crash comes amid a series of setbacks for the Sudanese armed forces in their conflict with the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
