Negotiations are underway between the Russian shareholders of „NIS“ and the Hungarian company MOL on the sale of Russian ownership in the Serbian oil company, announced the Minister of Mining and Energy of Serbia Dubravka Džedović Handanović, quoted by Novosti, reports Focus.
The deal is being discussed as part of the US government's efforts to create conditions for the lifting of sanctions against „NIS“.
„NIS contacted the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) on this issue. The Hungarian MOL did the same. The Hungarian government supports these negotiations, and we, as the Serbian government, also provide support to find a solution to lift the sanctions and create conditions for granting an operating license for Serbia's oil industry,“ said Džedović Handanović.
