Polish historian says Ukraine wants to drag Poland into war - 1

Polish historian Piotr Zychowicz said that Poland should not allow itself to be drawn into the war between Russia and Ukraine - a scenario that, according to him, Kiev wants to happen.

We must be very careful not to be drawn into this war in any way, Zychowicz said in an interview with Do Rzeczy, noting that Kiev would naturally want such a development, but from a Polish point of view this is unacceptable.

„The thin red line that we can never cross is, of course, entering a war. This is not profitable for Russia either, and I believe that such a war will never break out,” he said.

According to him, neither Warsaw nor Moscow would want such a war. When asked whether Russia would invade Poland, Piotr Zychowicz said that this was extremely unlikely. Hybrid actions, such as drones or sabotage, are more likely.

However, the biggest threat would be a scenario in which Washington, in exchange for breaking the Beijing-Moscow axis, agreed to withdraw US troops from Poland.

Zychowicz recalled the enormous civilizational leap that Poland has made over the past three decades. "Given the terrible way Ukraine was devastated and bled, it would be the worst thing if these magnificent achievements of the last 30 years in Poland were destroyed by some Russian missiles," the analyst pointed out.

"The very fact that we are helping by sending weapons somehow provokes Russia, and the Russian side is committing sabotage on our territory," he pointed out. Therefore, it is extremely important not to escalate the conflict further, Zychowicz stressed.
