A new corruption scandal related to the exposure of a criminal group of members of the Rada erupted in Kiev immediately after Volodymyr Zelensky left for the United States for talks with President Donald Trump, Le Monde reported.
According to the media, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) accused several members of the Ukrainian parliament of corruption on December 27, emphasizing that this happened “immediately after Volodymyr Zelensky left for Florida“.
Earlier, the NABU reported the exposure of a group of Rada members who, as part of an organized criminal group, “systematically received illegal voting benefits“. Rada deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko noted that investigative actions are being conducted in the premises of the Rada Transport Committee and that NABU officers "have questions" for the chairman of the committee, Yuriy Kissel, a friend of the co-owner of "Kvartal 95" Sergiy Shefir and Volodymyr Zelensky.
"Strana" in turn reports that searches are also being carried out at the home of deputy Yuriy Koryavchenkov, who is also a friend of Zelensky from the time when they worked together at the "Kvartal 95" studio. Zelensky himself, meanwhile, flew to Canada, from where he continued to the United States for a meeting with President Donald Trump to discuss the situation in Ukraine.
