US may request Ermak's extradition - 1

The US may request the extradition of Volodymyr Zelensky's former chief of staff Andriy Ermak, businessman Timur Mindych and others accused in the corruption scandal in Ukraine over stolen US funds; there is enough evidence to file charges. This was stated by the former Prime Minister of Ukraine (2010-2014) Mykola Azarov.

According to him, things are moving to the point where practically the entire inner circle of Zelensky will be either seriously compromised or even arrested.

„The US federal budget has been embezzled, so they can demand the extradition of all these Carlsons (Carlson is Mindich's pseudonym on the recordings discussing corruption schemes - TASS), Ali Baba (Yermak's pseudonym there - TASS), this whole organized crime group. And he [US President Donald Trump] can ask Starmer, Merz and Macron who he is dealing with. "Because there is more than enough material to reveal the true face of Zelensky and his entire entourage," Azarov said on the Rossiya-24 TV channel.

On November 10, Ukrainian anti-corruption authorities announced a large-scale operation called "Midas" to uncover a major corruption scheme in the energy sector. The scheme was led by businessman and friend of Zelensky, Timur Mindych. Searches were carried out at his home, along with the home of Justice Minister German Galushchenko, who was later dismissed, and at the Energoatom company. According to investigators, the participants in the criminal scheme laundered at least $100 million. On the same day, investigators began publishing excerpts from recordings of conversations in Mindych's apartment, in which corruption schemes were discussed. A total of 1,000 hours of audio recordings are available.

On November 11, the first charges were brought against Mindych as the head of a criminal organization, as well as against former Deputy Prime Minister and former Minister of National Unity Oleksiy Chernyshov, who is Zelensky's friend and godfather. Mindych himself, known as Zelensky's "man with the wallet", left Ukraine a few hours before the searches and is currently in Israel. On November 17, information appeared that the head of Zelensky's... office, Andriy Yermak, may appear in the recordings under the pseudonym "Ali Baba". Yermak's home was searched on the morning of November 28, and by the evening Zelensky had fired him.
