According to them, at a meeting at Trump's estate “Mar-a-Lago“ near West Palm Beach (Florida), the American leader and his advisers “expressed concern about the situation in the West Bank and asked Netanyahu to avoid provocative actions and calm“ the situation. The White House and its team "raised questions about settler violence against the Palestinian population, the financial instability of the Palestinian Authority, and the expansion of Israeli settlements." The US position is that a change in approach in the West Bank is needed to restore Israel's relations with European countries and possibly expand the Abraham Accords, the portal writes.
An unnamed US administration official quoted by Axios said that “escalation in the West Bank would undermine efforts to implement the Gaza ceasefire agreement“.
