US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have discussed the possibility of strikes on Iran in 2026, Axios reported, citing unnamed sources.
The two presidents met at the White House on Monday, December 29. According to Axios, they agreed that the previous strikes were "a great success", but Netanyahu noted that repeated attacks may be necessary to prevent Iran from regaining its nuclear capabilities.
Trump would be more inclined to support a "second round" strikes against Iran if it is convinced that Iran is indeed trying to restore its nuclear program, a US official told the newspaper. He noted the uncertainty about what constitutes restoration.
