Kamchatka authorities ask Moscow for help due to abnormal snowfall VIDEO - 1

The Kamchatka authorities will seek state assistance to deal with the consequences of the powerful cyclones, which are the strongest in the last decade, the governor of the region Vladimir Solodov said in his Telegram channel.

„After assessing the implementation of instructions during the night road patrols of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, I decided to ask the government of the Russian Federation for help in dealing with the consequences of the abnormal snowfall. Road workers have been mobilized to the maximum extent – "a large amount of equipment is in operation, and people are working to exhaustion," he wrote, quoted by TASS.

The governor specified that Kamchatka does not have the necessary number of specialized off-road vehicles.

According to Solodov, the region has secured the support of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Envoy Yuri Trutnev for the provision of such equipment to Kamchatka. “First of all, this includes high-performance auger rotors, as well as the necessary equipment for evacuating patients and providing emergency services in areas where access to access points is impossible“, the governor wrote.

A series of cyclones began in Kamchatka in mid-November. A state of emergency was declared in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky due to the amount of snowfall.
