Croatian PM: Ukraine should not hand over territories to Russia - 1

Ukraine should not put “even a drop of ink“ on a document that legally hands over its territories to Russia, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said during the World Economic Forum in Davos, the “Jutarni List“ newspaper reports, BTA reports.

Plenković participated in a panel on Ukraine together with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoff and Latvian President Edgars Rinkėvičs.

He stressed that Croatia is among the countries that are “clearly pro-Ukrainian“ in terms of solidarity and support, explaining that this was based on his country's experience after the war for independence from the former Yugoslavia in the 1990s.

“All peace agreements have two contexts - the moment and the environment in which they are signed, as well as their consequences in the future“, said Plenkovic. According to him, the resolution of the situation in Ukraine is of key importance for the stability of the international community and its future.
