„Military An-124 “Ruslan” has arrived in Kamchatka with a new shipment of specialized equipment from Moscow. The flight delivered a combined road machine and two excavators. The equipment was donated to the region and will add to our fleet. The vehicles will be deployed for cleaning as soon as possible“, said a statement by Vladimir Solodov, the governor of the region, on his Telegram channel.
According to Solodov, several more shipments are expected equipment arriving by plane and ship. The Telegram channel of the Kamchatka government previously reported on the delivery of a shipment of equipment from Primorsky Krai to the region.
A series of cyclones began in Kamchatka in mid-November. A state of emergency was declared in the municipality of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky due to the amount of snow. Snowdrifts in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky reached a height of 3-4 floors. In the first days after the storm, people traveled around the city on skis, snowmobiles, and in the suburbs - on dog sleds. Primorsky Krai, Sakhalin and Moscow provided snow removal equipment to help the region cope with the consequences of the cyclones.
