The European Union plans to provide Ukraine with 145 million euros in humanitarian aid, the European Commission announced today, quoted by DPA, BTA reported.
The funds are intended to provide protection, shelter, food and access to water and health services. An additional 8 million euros are also planned for Moldova to receive refugees from the war in the neighboring country.
Due to ongoing Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, the EU has provided Ukraine with 500 more emergency power generators, 447 of which were sent on Friday.
Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine nearly four years ago, Brussels has allocated over 1.4 billion euros for humanitarian programs in the country and neighboring Moldova. In addition, at least 3 billion euros have been provided for energy security.
The EU has supported Ukraine with a total of 193.3 billion euros, the EC said.
