Pentagon Warns: We Will Not Tolerate Dangerous Actions by Tehran in the Strait of Hormuz - 1

The United States warned that "we will not tolerate dangerous actions" of Iran in the Strait of Hormuz, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM), which is responsible for the Middle East, made this clear on the eve of the upcoming live-fire exercises of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps - the military pillar of the government in Tehran - on this most important oil export route tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

The announcement of the maneuvers was made on Thursday against the backdrop of US President Donald Trump's threat that he may use military force against Iran if it does not agree to a deal on its nuclear program.

The US Armed Forces will not tolerate "dangerous maneuvers" such as flights over US warships, including the approach of Iranian motor boats aimed at a collision with US ships, CENTCOM warned yesterday. It reminded that "any dangerous and unprofessional behavior in the vicinity of American forces, regional partners, or merchant vessels increases the risks of collision, escalation, and destabilization".

The United States "has the best-trained and most lethal force in the world and will continue to operate with the highest levels of professionalism and adhere to international norms. The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps must do the same", emphasized CENTCOM.

The Strait of Hormuz between Iran and Oman is 55 kilometers wide, DPA notes.
