Israel decided today to suspend the activities of the international non-governmental organization "Doctors Without Borders" in the Gaza Strip, with its employees in the Palestinian enclave having to leave its territory by the end of this month, Agence France-Presse reported, quoted by BTA.
The reason for the ultimatum, with a deadline of February 28, is the organization's refusal to provide Israel with a list of its Palestinian employees, AFP reported.
The Israeli Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Anti-Semitism, which is responsible for registering humanitarian organizations, announced that it would "suspend" the activities of "Doctors Without Borders" in the Gaza Strip because it had not received this list - an obligation "applicable to all humanitarian organizations operating in the region".
On January 1 of this year, Israel confirmed the ban on access to the Gaza Strip of 37 major international organizations, which it accuses of not providing it with a list of the names of their employees, under the new regulations, Agence France-Presse reported at the time.
