NATO chief in Kiev: West considering three levels of security guarantees for Ukraine - 1

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said at a press conference in Kiev that the West is considering three levels of security guarantees for Ukraine in the event of further Russian aggression.

According to him, the first level is a "reinforced Ukrainian army", which will be supported with funding from Ukraine's partners, reports European Pravda.

"Obviously, this will be the first line of defense if the Russians decide to attack Ukraine again. And we all feel an obligation to ensure that the Ukrainian military is ready to defend itself," the publication quoted the Secretary General as saying.

The second level is "a coalition of the willing that the French and the British have put together," Rutte noted, without specifying how the coalition would act in the event of an attack.

"And the third level is the United States, which said in the summer that it wanted to join," the head of the North Atlantic Alliance emphasized.
