Washington Urges US Citizens to Leave Iran Immediately via Armenia or Turkey - 1

US citizens should immediately leave Iran by land via Armenia or Turkey, the US Embassy in the Islamic Republic warned.

“Develop a plan to leave Iran that is not dependent on US government assistance“, the statement said.

The embassy warned that US citizens should expect internet outages in Iran. American citizens are at high risk of detention in Iran, and showing a U.S. passport or ties to the U.S. alone could lead to arrest, the embassy stressed.

The U.S. government has no diplomatic or consular relations with Iran, the embassy stressed.

U.S. President Donald Trump has repeatedly said the United States will hit the Islamic Republic "very hard" if its authorities begin "brutally killing peaceful protesters." He said a "massive armada" of U.S. warships, including the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, is heading toward Iran.

Trump has urged Iran to make a nuclear deal. "If Tehran does not agree to the agreement," the president warned, "the next U.S. attack will be "much worse" "from this June 2025," the US president said.

The parties were originally scheduled to meet in Istanbul with observers from Middle Eastern countries. However, on February 3, Tehran demanded that the talks be moved to Oman and become strictly bilateral, focusing solely on the nuclear program. Axios also reported that disagreement over the format may have derailed the talks. According to the media outlet, leaders of at least nine Middle Eastern countries have asked the US not to interrupt negotiations with Iran.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi later announced that the talks would be held in Muscat, Oman, on February 6.
