French President Emmanuel Macron said he was "very skeptical" is open to the possibility of achieving peace in Ukraine in the short term, Agence France-Presse reported, quoted by BTA.
Macron spoke during a video conference call with allies from the "Coalition of the Willing", who gathered in Kiev on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the start of the war in Ukraine.
"I am very skeptical, to put it mildly, of the possibility of achieving peace in the short term", Macron said at the beginning of the meeting.
"It is good to continue the initiatives" for peace talks, but "there is no will on the Russian side to achieve peace", he explained.
