"Viktor Orban has recently been scaring Hungarians with rising fuel prices, and in Vienna you can refuel at the same price as in Budapest. In the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Poland, fuel is significantly cheaper than in Hungary". This was stated by the leader of the Hungarian opposition Peter Magyar at the height of the election campaign in the country, BGNES reports.

He emphasized that today the world price of crude oil is lower than in 2010, when Orban took office. However, at gas stations the price of A95 gasoline was almost twice as high as in 2010.

"Why? Because Orban has significantly increased all taxes on fuel, including excise duty and VAT, and the forint exchange rate has also weakened significantly," Magyar noted.

He was categorical that Orban is not governing effectively and is not interested in the constantly deteriorating situation of Hungarian citizens and businesses.

"Instead, he chooses to lie, instil hatred and burden the country with some of the highest taxes in Europe," the opposition politician pointed out.

We recall that the parliamentary elections in Hungary will be held on April 12. Most sociological surveys indicate that Magyar's "Tisza" party is leading by about 10% against Orban's "Fidesz".
