London with more criticism of the White House: Donald Trump has no workable plan for war against Iran - 1

Donald Trump has no workable plan for his war in Iran. This was stated by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, quoted by the "Telegraph".

He pointed out to MPs that Britain cannot be directly involved in the conflict in the Middle East without "considered" approach by the US and Israel.

Trump criticised Starmer for refusing to join the attacks on Tehran at the weekend and for initially not allowing the US to use British bases to bomb the Islamic republic.

The British prime minister subsequently backed down and gave the US permission to use the bases for defensive purposes while Iran fired missiles and drones into the region.

Asked why he would not authorise the Royal Air Force to take offensive action against Iran, Starmer replied: "What I was not prepared to do on Saturday was for the UK to join a war unless I was convinced that there was a legal basis and a feasible, well-considered plan. That remains my position".

He has been accused by senior Conservative and reformist politicians of threatening Britain's special relationship with the US. Last night, Trump said Starmer was "not Winston Churchill".

However, the Prime Minister pointed out: "British planes are shooting down drones and missiles to protect American lives in the Middle East at our joint bases. That is the special relationship in action. Sharing intelligence every day to ensure the safety of our people. That is the special relationship in action.".

"To stick to President Trump's last words, it is not the special relationship in action," he added.
