Iranian state media reported new airstrikes on the seventh day of the war with Israel and the United States, DPA reported, BTA reported.
Heavy strikes were carried out in residential areas near the city of Isfahan in the central part of the country, as well as in the capital Tehran. According to the Tasnim news agency, three small villages on the outskirts of Isfahan were hit. Airstrikes were also reported in the eastern part of Isfahan.
Several people were injured and residential buildings and cars were damaged, Tasnim said.
In Tehran, with a population of about 15 million people, residents were woken up in the early hours by renewed military action. Witnesses described a loud roar from fighter jets flying low over rooftops.
ISNA quoted local authorities in Qom as saying that two military bases near the city had been hit, but there were no injuries in the strikes.
The Iranian Red Crescent published photos showing destroyed residential buildings in major cities. Some of the photos also showed that the headquarters of one of Iran's humanitarian organizations had been severely damaged.
