The Israeli Air Force has completed another wave of strikes against Tehran and central Iran, the army press service reported. Eighty fighter jets participated.
One of the main targets in the Iranian capital was Imam Hussein University, a military academy that trains officers for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, the elite branch of the Iranian armed forces). According to the Israeli side, the university's territory was also used for military purposes and therefore, the army claims, "this facility was a legitimate military target".
Israel attacked underground bunkers where missiles were stored and other military facilities, it said in the statement.
The Israeli military has again detected Iranian fire and has begun intercepting the missiles, the army press service said.
“The Israel Defense Forces have detected missile launches from Iran aimed at Israeli territory“, the statement said.
“Defense systems are working to intercept threats, the press service added.
