The first footage of the drone attack at Dubai airport on Saturday morning has been released. A video clip shows the moment a drone crashed near a terminal at Dubai International Airport on Saturday morning. It is not clear from the video whether the strike was caused by an interception or a targeted strike, CNN reports.
In an earlier post on X, the Dubai Media Office said authorities confirmed that a “minor incident resulting from the fall of debris following the interception“ had been “successfully contained“ and no injuries were reported. Authorities “also denied reports circulating on social media of incidents at Dubai International Airport”.
The footage shows the drone descending from the sky before hitting the ground near the building, causing an explosion and a large plume of smoke.
CNN has reached out to the Dubai Media Office for further clarification. After a temporary suspension, airport operations have resumed, according to a later release from the Dubai Media Office.
CNN's geolocation of the footage shows that the projectile fell near the eastern end of the airport's Concourse A, although it is not clear from the video whether it landed on airport grounds or what was damaged by the impact.
CNN found no evidence that the footage had appeared online before that point, nor any indication of artificial intelligence manipulation.
