The death toll from a Russian airstrike on a residential building in Kharkiv, eastern Ukraine, has risen to 11.
The attack injured 16 people. This was announced today by the mayor of Kharkiv, Igor Terekhov, UNIAN reports.
''As of 2:10 p.m., it is known that 11 people, including two children, have died,'', said a statement provided by Ukrinform.
Previously, the mayor of Kharkiv, Igor Terekhov, announced that seven people had died in the attack.
The entrance to a five-story residential building in the Kharkiv district of Kiev was practically destroyed by a Russian missile attack today. 16 people were injured in the attack. Among them are children aged 11 and 1.
In Kharkiv, March 9 was declared a day of mourning for those killed in the missile attack.
In a Facebook post earlier today, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia had fired a total of 29 missiles, almost half of which were ballistic, and 480 drones, including Shahed drones, overnight.
