Stephen Witkoff asked Moscow not to share intelligence with Tehran - 1

US presidential envoy Stephen Witkoff said he had asked the Russian side not to share intelligence with Tehran.

The United States believes that Iran may have access to enriched uranium stocks at a facility in Isfahan, according to The New York Times.

Axios, citing its own sources, claims that US and Israeli authorities have discussed the possibility of sending special forces to Iran to seize Iranian stocks of enriched uranium and other nuclear fuel, as well as key oil industry facilities.

US presidential envoy Stephen Witkoff said he had asked the Russian side not to share intelligence with Tehran.

The Japanese government, which follows the US line and cannot afford to criticize Washington's position, must carefully craft a cautious stance.

This view was expressed by Hideaki Shinoda, a professor at the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, commenting on Japan's reaction to the Israeli and American strikes on Iran.

“Maintaining a hard line on security and military issues, as well as being prepared for conflict with China, is a line from which the Tokyo administration, which relies on the support of the right-wing electorate, cannot deviate“, Shinoda stressed. This situation, he said, has inevitably led to a trend in which Japan “is following a diplomatic path dependent on the United States“. "The government can be described as neither supporting nor condemning the strikes against Iran, but it has clearly expressed criticism of Tehran and is moving closer to the United States," the expert commented on the Japanese government's position.
