The Iranian army today threatened to attack oil facilities in the region if Israel continues its attacks on the Islamic Republic's energy infrastructure, Agence France-Presse reported.
“The governments of Islamic countries must warn criminal America and the savage Zionist regime against such cowardly and inhumane actions as soon as possible“, said the central headquarters “Khatam al-Anbiya“, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
“Otherwise, measures will be taken in the region. And if you can afford oil at a price of over $200 per barrel – "continue with this game," the statement said.
French President Emmanuel Macron said tonight that he had spoken to his Iranian counterpart, Massoud Pezeshkian, and called on Iran to stop its attacks on other countries in the region and to open the Strait of Hormuz, Reuters reported.
In a post on the social network Ex, Macron reiterated France's position that a diplomatic solution was needed to end the conflict.
The French president also spoke with his American counterpart, Donald Trump, Agence France-Presse added.
