Kremlin: Continuing peace talks between Russia and Ukraine is in the interest of all parties - 1

The Kremlin said all parties are interested in continuing peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, with US mediation, but no date or venue has yet been set for the next round, Reuters reports, BTA reports.

Last year, the two sides held three rounds of talks in Turkey, and this year there were several more meetings with US mediation in Abu Dhabi and Geneva. However, the parties remain far from agreement on key issues, including Moscow's demand that Kiev cede control of the entire eastern part of Donetsk region.

Dmitry Peskov, a Kremlin spokesman, clarified to TASS that during the phone call with Donald Trump, the US President, Vladimir Putin was not asked for a ceasefire in Ukraine.

US special envoy Steve Witkoff maintains constant contact with Russian interlocutors, which allows for dialogue on sensitive issues. Peskov added that Putin highly values the US mediation and Russia remains grateful and interested in continuing the negotiations.
