Ukraine regains almost all control over Dnipropetrovsk region - 1

Ukraine has managed to regain nearly 400 sq km of territory from Russian forces in recent weeks in the Dnipropetrovsk region, General Oleksandr Komarenko said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine, quoted by DPA, BTA reports.

According to the representative of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, only three small settlements remain under Russian control in the region, while there is still no confirmed information about two more.

Komarenko pointed out that February brought positive results for the Ukrainian army. "The liberated territory is more than the lost," he stressed, describing the situation on the front as "difficult, but under control."

In recent weeks, Ukrainian forces have also launched counterattacks in the Zaporizhia region, with Kiev reporting progress. Military observers, however, remain more cautious in their assessments of the development of the fighting, DPA notes.
