The Russian-appointed head of part of Ukraine's Donetsk region - Denis Pushilin, told Russian President Vladimir Putin that Ukraine controls approximately between 15% and 17% of the region, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
Pushilin informed Putin about this during a meeting broadcast on public television today.
Russia claims that the entire Donetsk region is part of Russia, saying the region is under its so-called nuclear umbrella.
Ukraine has said that it will never recognize Russian control over part of Donetsk region or other regions in Ukraine that are partially or fully captured by Russia.
