Next round of Ukraine talks could take place in Istanbul. Russia: No concrete details yet - 1

The next round of trilateral talks on the conflict in Ukraine could take place in Istanbul, but there are no concrete details yet, just an agreement that the peace process will continue, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said today, quoted by Reuters, BTA reported.

Russia and Ukraine held three rounds of talks in Turkey last year. US-brokered talks this year took place in Abu Dhabi and Geneva.

Peskov also said it was clear that British specialists were involved in the Ukrainian attack on the Russian city of Bryansk with British-made “Storm Shadow“ missiles. Russia's “special military operation“ will continue to prevent such “barbaric attacks”, he added.

At least six people were killed and 37 injured in yesterday's Ukrainian attack on Bryansk. Ukraine said it had hit a key missile parts manufacturing plant. Russia said Kiev had targeted civilians.

The Kremlin spokesman also said that Russia was in constant contact with the Iranian leadership and was ready to contribute to efforts to stabilize the region.

“I can only say here that we are in constant contact with the Iranian country and the Iranian leadership,” Peskov said. "As President (Vladimir) Putin said, Russia is always ready to do whatever it can to restore peace and stability in the region," he added.

Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov have spoken with their Iranian counterparts in recent days, and the Russian president also spoke by phone with US President Donald Trump on Monday.
