Polish and allied aircraft were sent this morning to ensure the security of Polish airspace after Russian strategic aviation carried out strikes on Ukraine, the Polish Armed Forces announced, quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.
In a statement, the operational command said the actions were taken as a precautionary measure to protect the airspace near the combat zone.
"No violation of Polish airspace was observed", the command said in a separate post on the "Ex" social network, after the operations of Polish and allied aviation over the country ended.
